The Ruby Valley is nestled between two primary mountain ranges, the Tobacco Roots and the Ruby, with the McCartney, Greenhorn and Brazil ranges completing the outline of our gem. Sheridan and Twin Bridges are the primary business centers with banking and postal service as well as a variety of restaurants and stores. The smaller towns of Silver Star, Alder and Laurin have a grocery store, restaurant, gas station, tavern or other small commercial enterprises. Visitors find a very friendly, helpful atmosphere in all of our towns and each town has unique qualities and special stories. Over the past few decades, the trout-rich rivers of the Ruby Valley have attracted fishermen from all over the world. However, visitors have found many other activities that bring them back to the Ruby Valley year after year. Hiking, biking, camping, boating, hunting, wildlife photography and nice local folks make this sheltered corner of Southwestern Montana a regular destination for visitors from all over the United States. (Please visit our Interactive Map for information on mountains, rivers, fishing access, and interesting landmarks.) Kids love the Ruby Valley for its relaxed environment and the wide variety of outdoor entertainment such as rodeos and town festivals. Amusement parks are great but vacations in the Ruby Valley will be remembered for the special time spent sharing with Mom & Dad. Read More>>
